Plate 02 — The shop, the tools, the trade. Berthoud, Colorado.

The Showroom

Three decades, four walls, one careful trade.

Step inside and you’ll find the floor stacked four-deep with rugs from every corner of the world — classic Persian, contemporary tribal, fine kilim — alongside the workshop where we wash, mend, and finish them.

Stained glass throws color across the brick. Dried botanicals hang from the ceiling. The shop dog will probably find you before we do.

By appointment only. Bring your rug, bring your questions.

The Atelier · Process

Five stops betweenyour floor and ours.

  1. I.

    Intake

We meet your rug at your door or our showroom. Notes are taken: weave, age, fiber, damage, history.

  2. II.

    Dust

Compressed air strips out years of dry soil and grit before a single drop of water touches the wool.

  3. III.

    Wash

Full submersion. Hand-applied soap, gentle agitation, repeated rinse until the water runs clear.

  4. IV.

    Restore

If the rug needs it, repairs come next — fringe, edge, pile. Hand-dyed yarn matched to the original.

  5. V.

    Return

Slow-dried, finished, wrapped. Delivered back to where it lives — most often by us, in our truck.
